Funeral for Rodney Sparkman, 60, longtime resident and Pecos Businessman who died last Saturday was held at 10 A. M. today in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1203 S. Ash. Burial was in Mt. Evergreen Cemetery under direction of Pecos Funeral Home.
A native of Olney where he was born 1 Decmber 1918, Mr. Sparkman died at 2:10 A. M. December 23rd in Reeves County Hospital.
He had been an area resident since 1948 and had been in the garage and used car business prior to his retirement.
Surviving are his widow, Frances of the home; four sons, Melvin Sparkman of Big Spring, Wayne Sparkman of Barstow, Rodney, Jr., of Lima, Peru and Jimmy Sparkman of Pecos; four daughters Martha Barbee of Los Angeles, California, Louise Travoe of California, Patricia and Cynthia Sparkman both of Pecos; 3 step-sons Amando Esparza, Jr., Alfonso Esparza both of Pecos and Jesse Esparza of Sacramento, California.
Also four step-daughters Mary Franco and Susan Reyes both of Pecos and Virginia Navarette and Sylvia Hernandez, both of Fort Stockton, thirty grandchildren and two great grandchildren.More About Rodney Sparkman:
