Dearest Family and Friends:

Rod and Camille Sparkman, 2010, at Camille's Recognition Luncheon as the West Bountiful City Mother-of-the-Year

Beautiful Camille sitting in a booth with her family during October 2010 birthdaysWithout a doubt, the year 2010 will go down as one of the best years this family has ever seen.  Of greatest note are the additions to our family.  They are Corbin Trey Sparkman, son of R.J. and Ann Sparkman and Shaun Michael McNeal, son of Robert and Emma McNeal.  We’re grateful for their safe arrivals.  Incidentally, Camille was nominated by Stephanie as the West Bountiful City Mother-of-the-Year 2010 and Camille won!  Isn’t she beautiful?

New covered deck where many barbeques and fun have taken place in 2010

Rod and Camille:  A huge blessing in our lives has been the addition of a covered deck and a new elevator to our lovely home.  Camille has struggled to keep the snow back in the winter time and this covered deck is a Godsend, literally.  Rod will not have to worry about snow when he gets into his van to go to work.  Camille will not have to worry about shoveling the snow to clear a path for Rod’s wheelchair.  Because it is such a nice addition, the family has had a number of get-togethers and barbeques as a result.  Rod is able to play with Brennon while on the deck which is the biggest benefit, of course!  Rod continues to do his 32 mile hand-cranking every Saturday.  Since the weather has turned for the worse, it will have to be indoors with his Power Trainer.  It’sCamille, 2010, Davis County Fair, after being dunked about a thousand times at the Dunk-the-Librarian tank! just not the same as enjoying sweet Mother Nature with all her gnats, mosquitoes, dust and pollen.  He loves the great outdoors!  He truly is a “Texan lost in Utah”.

Camille was the guinea pig for the Dunk-a-Librarian night at the county fair.  She was dunked some say over a thousand times!  Doesn’t she look lovely?  J

By the way and sorry for being so matter-of-fact, Rod had a colon cancer screening in June.  As it turned out, he had 3 pre-cancerous polyps, otherwise known as adenomatous polyps!  They were, of course, removed, but this is a word to themedical codeceus wise.  If you're 5Pre-cancerous polyp taken from Rod 12 June 20100 or over, please get yourself tested.  According to Dr. Mehmet Oz, it could save your life!  He ought to know.  He had his performed and he, too, had a pre-cancerous polyp removed.  Because Camille, her family, and now, I, have a history of colon issues, my children need to get a colonoscopy at the age of 40.  Now, you know why Rod and Camille are so thankful for great health and great access to medical care!

A Thanksgiving Message from Rod

Brennon Sparkman dressed up as Elmo during Halloween 2010

R.J., Ann, Brennon, and Corbin:  Despite the economic recessionBrennon with his little brother Corbin 2010 that we’re going through, R.J. and Ann were able to buy a small home for their little family.  It is especially a blessing since Corbin Trey came to their home in November.   Ann is recovering nicely. Brennon’s current obsession is with Sesame Street’s Elmo.  As you can see, he dressed like Elmo for Halloween.  He was so cute!   He loves his little brother and he helps out with taking good care of him.  Doing his job as a “terrible two”, he gets into everything which drives his dad crazy.  Way-to-go, Brennon!  Karma is a reality!

Bobby and Emma with their new son, Shaun Micheal

Emma, Bobby, and Shaun Michael McNeal:

As is always the case with Emma, change again has taken place.  They, too, purchased a cute home getting ready for their new addition.  Emma was accepted to nursing school set for Fall 2011.  By the way, little Shaun Michael was born to Emma and Bobby in November.  Despite all their preparations for a natural birth, the delivery was by Cesarean section, unfortunately.  However, both mom and baby are doing great.  Bobby continues to work for Hill Air Force Base as a software engineer and he loves his work.  Now that Shaun has come into his life, he enjoys more than ever returning home to be with his beautiful wife and baby boy.  Their lives will never be the same.  It will be filled with wonderful memories and eventful experiences.

Lisa and Jake still in love and kissing every chance they get!Jake and Lisa: Jake and Lisa are still in love!  Can you imagine that after a year-and-a-half they still kiss at every turn?  It’s true.  The Lord blesses those who love each other.  We're grateful that Jake was able to be with us this year.  He gave birth to a big ugly baby!  It was his diseased gall bladder that almost killed him.  Again, we're glad that he is still with us.  Jake continues his education at LDS Business College.  It is truly a challenge, but Jake is weathering the storm of full-time work and full-time school.  Lisa, finally, got her diploma from BYU Idaho after insisting that she really did finish that class they said she didn’t take.  She put her foot down and finally, they said that they made an error.  The only thing worse than a government bureaucrat is a private college administrator!

Stephanie as the Mad Scientist!Stephanie:     Stephanie with Caleb Jerome at her twenty-second birthday party!Stephanie has had a full year.  Not only has she found her true love, but she also has found her true calling in life.  It is Mad Science and Public Relations.  Last summer, she was working two jobs.  One was as a mad scientist teaching students at science camps.  She loved doing that but was unable to continue due to her injury she sustained a year-and-a-half ago.  Heavy lifting of the classroom materials made it painfully unbearable.  She has learned a lot this year in the classroom and elsewhere.  She has three semesters left at Weber State University where she is studying Public Relations and Advertising.  Stephanie is still working as a photographer for Lifetouch.  She enjoys making people smile and capturing "the moment".  Stephanie also enjoys spending time with her best friend, Caleb.  The two do just about everything together.  However, their favorite date so far has been a hike up Ensign Peak.   The two laugh and love and continue to learn!

We are, as always, grateful for the bounteous blessings that the Good Lord has blessed us with.  Daily, we take the time to remember our beloved Savior and give our thanks for his infinite atonement.  May your families be as richly blessed and may you know that we think of you often.  With all our love, (Con todo nuesto amor y cariño!)
